Digital storytelling is a method of telling stories using digital technologies. Today the techniques of digital storytelling vary widely but one method stands out from the rest, the method developed by the Centre for Digital Storytelling during the 1990’s. The CDS approach uses 250 words and a few photos, to create beautifully crafted short, personal stories. CDS has trained and inspired many digital storytelling projects around the world including BBC Capture Wales.
In recent years digital storytelling has evolved into many different forms but the principles largely remain the same with the short, personal story at the heart of the process.
This module explores storytelling alongside various digital technologies that enable the sharing of our stories.
This is the module blog for Citizen Media: Digital Storytelling. These pages contain information, links, stories and activities as the module progress through the Spring semester of 2014/15.
